Do your school age children have or desperately want to do an after school activity such as sports or music, but you are struggling to get away from work on time to be the taxi driver?

Are they finding the after-school care environment at school just too long? You collect them right on 6.00pm and in the cold of Canberra's winter, they are so tired when they get home they don't want to do their readers or homework, and even struggle to eat a proper dinner. 

Mary Poppins Nannies care for many children of school age, usually primary, before and after school. Our delightful young staff meet the children at school, bundle them into their car, and either take them home or off to their activities.

Experience has taught us that tertiary students are fantastic after school carers - they enjoy the time they spend with the children and at the same time are able to lead by example when it comes to focussing on completing homework.

They also have flexibility - some families do not require care during the school holidays, while others require extra school holiday hours. Our tertiary student staff are not looking for full-time work, and although their studies come first, once they commence with a family we find them to be very committed and amenable to work in with the family requirements. It is obviously easier when the family have some flexibility too!

You will not be required to pay your before or after school nanny directly – Mary Poppins Nannies employs them.  The hourly rate charged will vary depending on the qualification and experience of the nanny, and on the position and your requirements.  Your Childcare Consultant will be able to offer guideline rates for your situation, but a good indication for budgeting is our standard Casual Childcare Rates, as most Before and After School Carers are charged out at these rates or similar. 

Most before and after school care nannies are required to use their own vehicle to drive the children home and/or to activities. A per km vehicle allowance is applicable and should be reimbursed to the nanny as an expense on a regular basis.  Mary Poppins Nannies are able to include vehicle expenses on our invoices, as long as the kms are included on the signed timesheet.
